The 2011 growing season was challenging and dramatic. Between
frost delaying bud break to a cold and wet summer, we were unsure
how our fruit would be affected. In the end, it was a harvest of
high risk and high reward. After all the challenges of the growing
season, what we did harvest was spectacular. The Chardonnays have
intense aromatics with great detail and intensity, and the Pinot
Noirs are very floral and have fine red fruit on the nose. Overall
the wines are tasting full of potential to be enjoyed now or laid
down for a few years.

2012 Rose of Pinot Noir
Our refreshing Rosé of Pinot Noir is a
delightful accompaniment to a light summer lunch, a leisurely
picnic, or a laid-back summer evening. This perennial favorite is a
blend of fruit hailing from Russian River Valley and Laguna Ridge.
The fruit was harvested after a remarkable growing season that
produced grapes with piercing aromas, intense flavors, and crisp
acidity. Our Rosé entices with vibrant cranberry and late-summer
watermelon aromas with a tart cherry flavors and a refreshing
finish. This is our smallest production wine in our spring
portfolio and tends to sell out quickly, so we urge you to place
your order soon.

2011 Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Our Russian River Valley Chardonnay is now sourced
principally from our Martaella Estate Vineyard. We have planted
heirloom clones of Chardonnay that retain bright acidity and
express beautiful floral and mineral notes. The low-fertility soils
and the cool temperatures in this part of the Russian River Valley,
unite to form an ideal place for growing Chardonnay. The fruit was
harvested at night and then rigorously hand sorted before
whole-cluster pressing. The lively peach blossom and lemon oil
aromas are followed by equally intense flavors of yellow peach and
orange peel with a nice mineral freshness to the finish. Barrel
fermentation and oak aging for 16 months have added hints of
toasted brioche, roasted hazelnut and honey to this complex and
intriguing wine.

2011 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
You'll love this wine's rich and seductive aromas of baking
spice and vine ripened blackberry, followed by a juicy mouthfeel
supported by centered acidity and intense fruit through the
mid-palate. This wine is an intriguing blend of power and restraint
that is both savory and delicately sweet. Bella Una truly is
"beautiful as one."
Selected blocks of our estate vineyards and a handful of
small growers are united to create this beautiful Russian River
Pinot Noir. In farming each site, our intent is to maximize the
character and individuality of each location by utilizing the most
progressive viticultural techniques. This blend is a collection of
heirloom clones of Pinot Noir Calera, Swan, Pommard, Mt. Eden, and
Chalone, as well as newer French selections Dijon 828 and 943.
Aromas are clearly dominated by bright red fruit tones of Bing
cherry and red raspberry, while black fruits dominate on the
palate. The bright aromas expand and give way to black raspberry,
truffle and East Asian spice notes. The tannins are beautifully
proportioned and provide backbone to the wine's sweet middle and
delicate, earthy finish.
